        "rendered": "<p><strong><em>Murata Finland\u2019s cultural etiquette consists of six practices that enhance employee satisfaction and customer satisfaction. In the <a href=\"https:\/\/muratafinland.com\/en\/helping-is-part-of-murata-finlands-cultural-etiquette\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/muratafinland.com\/en\/helping-is-part-of-murata-finlands-cultural-etiquette\/\">previous blog<\/a> about our cultural etiquette, we explored the theme of helping from various perspectives. This time, the focus is on equal and friendly treatment.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to our cultural etiquette, we at Murata treat each other equally and friendly. All employees are respected and treated according to the same principles. We are open to and appreciate thoughts and mindsets that differ from our own. Sounds easy and obvious, right?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our work community development plan states that equality means &#8220;that all people are equal, and no one may be discriminated against on the basis of age, origin, nationality, language, religion, belief, opinion, political activity, trade union activity, family relationships, state of health, disability, sexual orientation or other personal characteristics. Provisions on equality in working life are laid down in the Non-discrimination Act and the Employment Contracts Act.\u201d The entire Murata Group is committed to these principles and strives to promote diversity in all its activities. And as stated in Murata&#8217;s policies, diverse opinions and viewpoints are an important part of diversity (Read more on <a href=\"https:\/\/corporate.murata.com\/en-global\/csr\/hr\/diversity?intcid5=mco_xxx_xxx_xxx_cnvp_xxx\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/corporate.murata.com\/en-global\/csr\/hr\/diversity?intcid5=mco_xxx_xxx_xxx_cnvp_xxx\">Murata&#8217;s website<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But we are all human, and in practice, understanding and appreciating differing perspectives can sometimes be challenging. Who wouldn\u2019t want to be right all the time \u2013 or at least most of the time? We also tend to respond more positively to those who think similarly to us. It\u2019s easy for inner circles and communities to form, making it difficult for those with different views to join in. This conflicts with Murata Finland\u2019s cultural etiquette.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At Murata, we follow various policies and guidelines, but building a respectful workplace is our collective responsibility every day in all interactions. It can involve small gestures, kind words and recognizing each other.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So how can we promote an equal work community where everyone is treated according to the same principles? How can we foster a psychologically safe atmosphere where everyone feels encouraged to express their opinions? We also asked a few Murata employees about this topic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignleft size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"665\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/muratafinland.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/question-mark-1019820_1280-665x1024.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1121\" style=\"width:110px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/muratafinland.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/question-mark-1019820_1280-665x1024.png 665w, https:\/\/muratafinland.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/question-mark-1019820_1280-480x739.png 480w\" sizes=\"(min-width: 0px) and (max-width: 480px) 480px, (min-width: 481px) 665px, 100vw\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What are your &#8220;Moments that Matter&#8221; at work when considering equal treatment and respect for one another?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThese are the small moments of everyday life: greeting someone, sharing a smile while passing by, holding the door open. Respecting others also means giving space and reading the situation. Surely, each of us experiences stress, anxiety, and a sense of urgency at times, and in those moments, it may be unreasonable to expect another person to respond with an equally broad smile. It is more important to be a listening ear and meet others with empathy, within our own limits.\u201d <em>\u2013 Ville, Processing Operator<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI believe we can best support each other when help is needed. I set aside time to assist team members and promote a culture where everyone is willing to help beyond team boundaries. Our goal is to achieve our desired outcomes together. I consider politeness and openness in discussions important. I strive to create an environment where everyone feels heard and acknowledged. That moment might be exactly what you are looking for in your work. It could also be an opportunity for someone else to feel part of the community. Issues may conflict, but people do not. It is completely normal and understandable that matters have multiple sides and ways of implementation. It&#8217;s good to discuss these and even debate at times, but we must avoid personal attacks. Here too, we should base our arguments on data and facts. Different perspectives are a richness!\u201d <em>\u2013 Sanni, Quality Systems Engineer<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI am practically always on-site at the office because I enjoy being able to spontaneously meet colleagues and hear what\u2019s on their minds right now. I believe that much of the experience of respect and equal treatment is created in these daily encounters that everyone has regardless of their workplace. Fifteen years ago, I worked as a production operator, and back then, friendly, and caring representatives from production support left a lasting impression on me.
