At Murata Finland’s Validation Laboratory, reliability and functionality tests are performed to ensure that Murata’s MEMS sensor elements and components meet high quality and customer requirements.

The Validation Testing team consists of laboratory engineers and technicians whose task is to organize, plan, perform, and report on various validation tests and projects. Validation tests are conducted during production change management processes, various stages of product development, or in support of risk assessments. The team is involved in many different areas and collaborates with several other teams – many team members highlight versatility as one of the best aspects of their work in the laboratory.

What skills are needed in your team?

With hundreds of individual tests constantly running in the laboratory, team members need strong organizational and planning skills. The work requires strong problem-solving abilities, an active and proactive working style, as well as close cooperation both within the laboratory team and with test development teams.

As an electronics laboratory, we require measurement technical expertise and knowledge of physical phenomena. It is also important to understand manufacturing processes, functionalities of sensor elements and components, as well as industry quality requirements and standards.

What is the best part of your work?

Many team members mention that the best part of working at Murata is their colleagues. The work itself is very varied and diverse; you never know what investigations or studies the next day will bring. Therefore, tasks are versatile, allowing for continuous learning. The team also emphasizes how interesting it is to work with new products and technologies while being a part of the product development process.

As a validation testing service provider, it is important for us to adhere to promised schedules and agreements while providing high-quality customer service to both internal and external customers. We carefully report on the data we collect while continuously striving to improve our laboratory processes and working methods. We aim to collaborate equally with all stakeholders while maintaining an open culture for discussions.
