To balance out the workday, we need joy, energy, and shared experiences – and that’s exactly what Tarmo brings us. Tarmo is Murata Finland’s leisure committee, organizing a wide range of events and activities for all employees.

Tarmo’s roots go back to the early 2000s, when our company established a leisure committee to arrange rowing competitions, annual celebrations, and other events. Over the years, the activities have become more structured, and through a naming contest, this energetic team found the perfect name: Tarmo (in Finnish, “tarmo” means energy and drive).

The team consists of enthusiastic volunteers from different departments. Each member brings their own strengths and ideas – some are creative planners, others hands-on implementers. Among them are a sports legend, a gym queen, a movie ticket wizard, a music maestro – and more than one event magician.

Every year, Tarmo organizes a wide variety of activities: fitness challenges, cultural evenings, and other events. Recently, we’ve enjoyed wreath-making workshops, dance classes, a cruise, a running event, and trials of different sports.

Ideas come from employees and the team’s own creativity. Tarmo members also keep an eye on trends and think about what would interest our work community. The goal is to offer diverse and accessible experiences for everyone.
