What do you like the most about your job?
I truly enjoy my work in every aspect and feel that I belong where I am. I consider myself very fortunate. Being part of Murata’s fantastic and skilled Finance team, whose dynamic approach is truly admirable.
What are the main reasons you have enjoyed your time at Murata?
Murata fosters an exceptionally supportive environment that inspires progress. Everyone is given the opportunity to develop through the company’s success without always requiring prior experience. You can showcase your motivation and demonstrate that you can achieve something. In my opinion, this is highly valued today. Many individuals have been with Murata for a long time – some even over 20 years. This says a lot.
What was your dream job when you were young, and why?
I thought quite early on, during my upper secondary school years, that I would end up working in accounting-related roles. Everything related to finance interested me, and later on, I completed a degree in financial management. However, I ended up in different positions until after several twists – and upon completing a bachelor’s degree at Metropolia University of Applied Sciences – I am now working in a role that was originally my goal.
What has been your career path at Murata?
I applied to work at Murata in 2012 based on a recommendation from a friend. I sent an open application and secured a position in testing MEMS sensor components. Three months later, I transitioned to become an Area Coordinator within Testing and held that role for about four years.
Afterward, I started studying at Metropolia University while taking two years off for studies – however, during summers, I worked at Murata’s Production Planning team. Upon graduation, I returned initially to Testing but this time as Production Planner/Area Coordinator; then as parental leave substitute for the Production Planning team; followed by Logistics as Development Engineer responsible for communication related to imports, guidance, and freight transport. I had not previously worked extensively with Logistics but had collaborated with them before. The new team welcomed me wonderfully, I participated in various projects, and learned many new things. I greatly appreciate the trust received from this fantastic and diverse team. From Logistics, I transitioned then into my current role within the External Accounting team. In my current role my main focuses are in managing sales ledger accounts, archiving contracts, following and calculating inventory value, and recording EU import/export customs reporting.
What advice would you give to someone considering working or studying at Murata?
Murata genuinely offers good opportunities for growth along with diverse tasks. Students or anyone interested in the field should consider joining Murata, to build upon the strong expertise already present within the organization.
