Murata Finland’s Industrial Engineering team guides the future development of MEMS inertial sensor production and analyzes planned and actual cost structures. The team helps production and stakeholders make cost-effective and rational decisions.
We want to hear more about this! We asked the team to share a bit more about what they do, the skills required, and what they enjoy most about their work.
What does the Industrial Engineering team do?
Our goal is to enable efficient, productive, and customer-friendly production by leveraging modern technologies such as artificial intelligence and automation. We participate in ramping up new inertial sensor products, capacity and workforce calculations, develop SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) processes, production control systems, and layouts, and are responsible for cost monitoring and analysis. We collaborate continuously with many different teams, as the value of our work is measured by how well decisions and innovations based on our calculations succeed in production.
What skills are needed in your team?
Key expertise includes numerical skills, understanding of production technology/processes and systems, financial knowledge, and excellent analytical skills. Successfully carrying out tasks also requires good collaboration skills, a willingness to influence, and motivation to develop. Our goal is that everyone can develop their personal skills in line with our team and company values through their work and training.
What is the best part of your work?
We appreciate working alongside many different teams and knowing our work impacts the success of production and business.
One team member says, “The best part is the diverse and varied tasks that keep us challenged. Our expertise and achievements are recognized by both supervisors and colleagues. In the team, we support each other, share ideas, and solve challenges together. We have a learning mindset – mistakes are opportunities to learn, and no one is blamed. Plus, we have fun at work!”
Another team member shares, “The best part of our work is the multinational team that brings new perspectives and energy to everyday life. It’s always exciting to see how even the wildest innovations become reality and positively impact our results. Also, in this team, you can be yourself without having to pretend.”
