People and community
Our employees are the most important resource of our operations. We are committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and healthy work environment where everyone has the opportunity to grow, learn, and succeed.
Murata Finland employs approximately 800 people (2026). Our employees represent approximately 30 different nationalities and native languages, which makes our work community truly international. Approximately 25% of our employees and those in management positions are women.
Diverse backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives are our strengths. We are building a culture where everyone is treated with respect, cooperation is encouraged, and everyone can express their own ideas and be themselves, regardless of their task or background.
Competence development
Continuous learning and competence development are a key part of Murata’s operating culture. We want to offer our employees opportunities to grow professionally and build a long-term career in an international technology company.
Approximately 40% of our employees have a master’s or doctoral degree, and in 2025, we employed 50 experts with a doctoral degree.
We work closely with educational institutions and offer educational paths from vocational studies to doctoral level.
Well-being and safety
Well-being is a strategic focus area at Murata. Our goal is to provide a safe and healthy working environment and support the overall well-being of our employees.
In addition to extensive occupational health services, all our employees have the opportunity to take advantage of low-threshold mental health support services. The aim of these services is to strengthen well-being, support stress management, and help in different situations in life with the support of health care professionals.
Environment
Murata is committed to reducing the environmental impact of its operations and contributing to a sustainable future. Environmental sustainability guides our operations at all levels, from daily practices to long-term development projects.
As a leading developer of inertial MEMS sensors, we strive to combine technological innovation with sustainable operations. Our goal is to improve energy efficiency, reduce emissions, prevent environmental pollution and use natural resources sustainably.
Towards low-carbon operations
Mitigating climate change is one of the key focus areas of our environmental work.
We promote energy saving, increase the use of renewable energy, and we are constantly looking for new ways to reduce the greenhouse gas emissions of our operations.
In 2023, we transitioned to carbon-free electricity, reducing the CO₂e emissions from our electricity consumption to zero. In addition, since the beginning of 2025, we have been using 100 % renewable district heating, which reduces our annual CO₂ emissions by approximately 1,500 tons. Looking ahead, we aim to further reduce our emissions by improving heat recovery, reducing water consumption, and enhancing the treatment of residual gases generated as a by-product of our operations.
More sustainable choices in everyday life
Environmental sustainability is also reflected in the everyday life of the personnel. We encourage more environmentally friendly mobility solutions by offering employees the opportunity to charge electric cars in the workplace.
In addition, we have supported the use of electric bikes and electric scooters by building a safe charging solution for their batteries. Charging points for electric cars were introduced in 2023 and a charging cabinet for electric bicycle and scooter batteries in 2024.
Sustainable supply chain
Sustainability also extends beyond our own operations. We actively work with our suppliers to ensure that the principles of sustainability are implemented throughout the supply chain.
Murata’s sourcing policy and supply chain sustainability guidelines define the principles according to which we cooperate with our suppliers. Our goal is to build long-term partnerships based on trust, quality, sustainability, and continuous development. Through good governance, a strong ethical culture and a sustainable supply chain, we ensure that our operations create sustainable value for our customers, employees and society far into the future.
