Murata Finland’s Supplier Quality Management (SQM) team is responsible for ensuring that all our suppliers adhere to Murata’s high-quality standards. The team collaborates closely with suppliers and ensures that all purchased materials and their manufacturing processes meet sufficient quality standards before they are approved for use in Murata’s production.

What skills are needed in your team?

We have a very diverse team with deep technical and management skills. We need to understand the properties of different materials and be proficient in various quality tools. Since strengthening supplier relationships is part of our role, we also need teamwork, auditing, negotiation skills as well as a general understanding of the semiconductor industry. Regarding quality systems, it is important for us to be knowledgeable about systems such as VDA 6.3., IATF16949, ISO-14001, ROHS, and REACH.

What do you enjoy most about your work?

The best part is definitely a sense of accomplishment when we can contribute to solving an important problem using our expertise. It’s great to collaborate within a team that has diverse expertise and see how our work improves customer satisfaction.

How do you apply Murata’s corporate philosophy and cultural etiquette?

Our team has a strong sense of responsibility – each one of us takes ownership for our actions and performance while sharing knowledge within the team for Murata’s success overall. We are better individuals by being part of a great team! Everyone on our team is also genuinely helpful – following our cultural etiquette – which makes collaboration smooth.
